And when we take a moment to stop and appreciate all that nature has to offer, we inevitably feel grateful for this world we call home.
There’s something about nature that makes us feel alive. The fresh air, the scent of the trees and the sound of the birds combine to create a sense of peace and calm.
And when we take a moment to stop and appreciate all that nature has to offer, we inevitably feel grateful for this world we call home.
Nature provides the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. It is home to an incredible variety of plants and animals that help maintain the balance of resources in the environment. When one species goes extinct, it can have a ripple effect on the entire ecosystem. Flora and fauna regulate our climate and support the natural systems that sustain life on Earth.
But not only that, nature plays an essential role in our mental and physical health. Spending time in nature can reduce stress, anxiety and depression. It also increases our energy levels and boosts our immune system.
For all these reasons, it is clear that nature is the one thing we should take care of most on the planet. By preserving wild areas and maintaining healthy ecosystems, we ensure our own survival and that of other species.
Ixtapa Ecological Reserve
In Ixtapa, we are proud to have a beautiful Ecological Reserve where we respect and conserve wildlife. All people are welcome to visit the reserve. But, of course, it is mandatory to be careful and respectful with it.
The reserve is known as Aztlán Park and is home to animals such as crocodiles, iguanas, armadillos and exotic birds.
One of the most fun ways to enjoy it is by bicycle, because in addition to filling you with adrenaline, you can closely observe the flora and fauna that live in it. The bike tour is a calm ride that requires moderate effort, so it is suitable for most fitness levels. Within the reserve, there are some viewpoints that are a bit more physically demanding; climbing to the top of them is optional, but the reward is an incredible view of Playa Linda and Ixtapa Island.
The bike path that crosses the reserve is part of the Ixtapa Ecological Bikeway, which is almost 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) long and goes from the town of Zihuatanejo to Playa Linda, where one of the entrances to the reserve is located. This bike path has become one of the destination's main attractions because of the beautiful scenery that can be seen along the way.
